I'm so glad you pushed through and finished it...it was worth the effort, sweet friend! I rarely rip cards apart, because I don't glue things together until I am fairly sure what I finally want to do. I "audition" a lot though, and that takes time! LOL! My mojo has been on vacation recently, and I've been trying to relax and even listen to an audio book to get my mind and body to rest. I also try reorganizing my room and also have been trying to catch up with other things. But I was thinking about it today and decided that I need to print out one of the fabulous new digis and try watercoloring...or just Copic coloring. I need to just color and let it go where it will. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card using the Hues to Use for this week! I love it! Hugs and love, sweet friend! xoxoCherylQuiltshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07264701469608248158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488393550159585752.post-75650860689284522682018-06-20T09:16:26.242-05:002018-06-20T09:16:26.242-05:00Hi Julie....First....love your card! Yes, I have ...Hi Julie....First....love your card! Yes, I have torn a few cards apart that I wasn't enchanted with. Usually to recolor something I've added, or touch something up. Sometimes to replace an element with something else. But I try to power through and persevere, even if I'm not thrilled early on. Sometimes art has to go through an 'ugly' stage before it becomes beautiful, don't you think?
When my mojo takes a vaca, I usually do also. That is, I don't try to do the 'creative stuff.' Or, I switch to one of my other creative outlets, such as knitting, or especially Zentangle. Both are soothing and comforting. Other times, I just stamp images to color later on, or to bring with me when we travel or get together with other stampers, so I have something to color then. And, I also like to look through Pinterest for ideas, and check out card patterns for layouts that are interesting that I may want to use as a starting point for future projects. If all that fails, I go for a walk or read a good book.lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13402278253638308259noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488393550159585752.post-55712525918190737162018-06-18T10:43:10.591-05:002018-06-18T10:43:10.591-05:00That would be fresh Mind....not Mine....geezThat would be fresh Mind....not Mine....geezRose Mary Smalleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17378327635149450379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488393550159585752.post-29259996263079584122018-06-18T10:40:56.319-05:002018-06-18T10:40:56.319-05:00As always your work is amazing. I love the colors that you used....and NICE TIP......I love to try my hand at watercoloring....It gives me a reason to be loose.....who doesn’t love that? LOL.....Yes, Yes, Yes...I have torn my cards apart thousands of times....probably because I just get with it and put it together, before taking time to do a dry run....so...I undo things and then find the better fit for pieces. So far that has worked. As far as losing my mojo...well that happens to everyone.....I just sit back...read some crafting magazines....fall asleep (that is what happens when I read). And then come back to my projects with a fresh mine and eye.....seems to work for me....Thank you for that awesome video....hugsRose Mary Smalleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17378327635149450379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8488393550159585752.post-19452760624203204962018-06-18T08:51:36.705-05:002018-06-18T08:51:36.705-05:00I have only had a couple that I have had to redo, ...I have only had a couple that I have had to redo, but I try and go with the flow of the card, it doesn't always end up like my first vision and that's ok. For lack of mojo, I take a break and go outside.Take a walk or pull weeds in the garden. I love the beautiful image colored with fun colors and the background.
I just redid a card yesterday. I used the a thinner card stock to get it in my printer and then decided to watercolor it. That warped the paper and when all assembled, not right, too wavy. I added a a layer of watercolor card stock and then some fun foam, that fixed it. It has to be right.
If I find that my mojo has flown the coup, I check out Pinterest or you tube for inspiration. If that doesn't work, go do something else. Where I live, things are expensive so I try very hard not to waste precious dollars. Secondly, if I have a mojo day, I lay off my work for an hour or two then return. I often work in my yard when I’m taking breaks. I’m usually encouraged to work more on my cards after that. I can't help in the mojo department right now, mine has flown the coop too. Hoping it comes back soon and you find yours :)Dana Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08480480668761448364noreply@blogger.com
