It’s been hard to contain this one! Azaleas — soon they’ll be kickin’ it live all over the Midwest, and many of you already have them infusing your neighborhoods with carpets of bright color. (I’m totally jealous, so try not to rub it in.) Whether you have Azaleas in bloom or not, let’s come together and gawk at this pretty new set, shall we?
Folks who’ve known me for a while know this: I’m a papercrafting poser. What you all do with stamps, ink, paper, and a “embellies” AMAZES ME. If I need to make a card, I fold a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 typing paper in half, and I draw something on it. Not quite up to your standards, I know. But in my defense, since I can draw things to make into stamps, I hope I can sort of hang with your crew. (If you will have me... Please?)
I chose the Azalea set for my debut Power Poppy stamping foray, bringing it into full tropical-toned glory with watercolors and gouache paint. It sure was neat to watch it go from an outline stamped in Pinecone Brown to a colorful painting, in about an hour. I should make more of these and frame them. Put that on the post-launch-of-the-new-business list.
I just know you’re going to want Azalea in your stamp arsenal, and you haven’t even seen what else you can do with the other stamps in this 100% hand-drawn and hand-lettered 4 by 6" set. How about we get that going right about now...

Ok Marcy, you know I love all of your designs, right? But this one completely blows me away every. single. time. that I look at it! It will be my most prized stamp set. So thankful to be able to work with your gorgeous images....big hugs!! :)
ReplyDeleteOOOooooo Marce! I hope we get to see more of this -- your painting is breathtaking and I could literally stare and it all day! It's so nice to be able to see you bring your own images to life. I do think you should frame this one! ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhile on our morning walk yesterday I commented to my husband on how I love this time of year in the south when all the azaleas are in bloom with the dogwoods soon to follow. Your latest stamp set is perfect and will have place in my craft room! Congrats on your new shop - I can't wait to use your new stamps in my copic classes!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beauty! This is one of my favorite images of yours. I love the way you brought this to life. :)
ReplyDeleteWow girl you out did yourself on this one, just gorgeous with all the little details to make them so realistic! I love it!! The DT's went over and above on their creations as well.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! So beautiful and loved visiting the DT's blogs - all so talented! Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteMarcella wow, love your stamps. Visited the DT's blogs and the samples are incredible. However, I am disappointed that so many of your DT doesnt post which copic colors they used. Not all of us crafters are artist and having a list of possible colors helps us envision that we could attempt the stamp. Please ask, or better yet require you DT to post the copics with the samples. Thank you for hearing this request.
ReplyDeleteAgain, each and every one of your creations is too much talent!! GREAT JOB AGAIN ladies!! WOW!! Thank you so much. Joleen
ReplyDeleteMarcy, you knocked it out of the park with this one, and if only I could do with inks what you do with paint. . . sigh. . . Thank you so much for this set and all your beautiful florals!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite of all! It is a must have. Can April 1 get here fast enough??
ReplyDeleteMarcella, I am so pleased to see your work will still be available for us stampers! I love the azalea stamp, Grandma had so many different colors. I will be following your blog and store. Will also need to change the budget to cover some stamps coming from you. :)
ReplyDeleteMarcy, I just love the way you've coloured your Azaleas!!! Absolutely Gorgeous!!! Julie is right....you should frame it!! :)
ReplyDeletePainted so beautifully. Aren't they a gorgeous plant with so many blossoms on each bush, just a ball of colour. We have many in our gardens, but not flowering here now.
ReplyDeleteLooking foward to seeing all the stamp sets in full.
LOL you are far from poser girl... You colored your blooms beautifully. Add some ribbon and pearls and you would be set. ;-)
ReplyDeletePoser...my foot!! Your coloring it absolutely stunning!! I vote for framing too!! Those babies need to be on display...just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteA true beauty!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Your coloring is amazing.
ReplyDeleteOH Marc...sigh. I've never seen you color one of your own images that I can remember. Amazing. It just made me gasp when I opened the page. I hope you do more of this :) And yes - totally frame able. I think that would be beautiful in your sunroom studio to have some of your sets framed like that. Waving at you from the island escape :) You're doing great lady!
