Hello peeps! I know I am not alone when I say that flowers are a gift best enjoyed up close and personal —the intricate beauty of the petals and leaves, the subtle scent, and the vibrant shades that could only be created by a higher power. Today on the Power Poppy blog, we walk out of nature and into craft rooms far and wide to give you a “macro look” at some of these beautiful blossoms, created by the hands of some very talented coloristas. We just love to show off what everybody makes.
Let’s get to the fanciful flower show!
Have you been able to take a look into the Kit and Clowder coloring classes that are being offered through March 14? We have been spotting the most vivid pinks and greens over on the Kit and Clowder Facebook page, where the “Clowdies” share their work, along with sharing lots of encouragement for one another. We thought Marion Lones did an outstanding job with her Copic-colored Camellias, above!
If you need a little watercolor inspiration, you just HAVE GOT to check out this amazing work of art by the Power Poppy ‘Peep in Chief’ — Ms. Marcella herself! When I caught a glimpse of what Marcy did with one of her soon-to-be-released stamp sets — I gasped!!! YES!! These sweet individual sweet peas will be in polymer SOON...
Let’s just breathe this in, and then PIN IT for later so we can be inspired again down the road! Speaking of Power Poppy’s spring release, MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW. Our Bloomies will begin showcasing our brand new collection of clear stamps starting March 10th, right here on the Power Poppy blog! And, there are some MAJOR surprises too! Can you even stand it? :-)
Our next “up close and personal look” happens to involve these sweet posies colored and accented by the very talented hands of Sandy Allnock. I just love the intensity and pop of color given to Power Poppy's Gerbera Daisies digital stamps, nicely offset by a black ribbon. (For polymer fans, this image also comes in the clear set Dynamic Duos: Glads and Gerberas). I am pretty sure Sandy accented the center of these beauties with a little white gel pen just to make them pop even more.
You know the saying “life imitates art”? Well, I believe Elizabeth Zaffarano used art to imitate life! These sweet little pansy faces are colored up beautifully and are so true to nature that I just might study them all day. We know from Elizabeth’s own Instagram snaps that she was inspired by a tray of Violas she brought home, and really gave them a deep look to capture the shading. Check out the absolutely wonderful way that Elizabeth blended that soft yellow into the vibrant violet! That's artistry folks -- sweet and pure artistry! Just in case you wondered, she used Power Poppy’s digital stamp called Pansies. See more of the markers and process for Elizabeth’s card by following @saffronkingfisher on Instagram.
What a pretty pastel birthday card featuring our January digital introduction, Sweet Pea Show. Lindsay Ettlinger shared her work with us over on the Power Poppy Facebook page, and we would love to see you share your work with us there, too. Such a light and lively treatment with the pinks and purples of these sweet peas, Lindsay, beautifully framed with lavender and pink accents!
Speaking of purple... check out who made the cover of Australian Simply Cards this month! It’s our Bloomie Kathy Jones’ Climbing Clematis card front and center, what a fun thing to see!
In honor of this exciting news, we’re offering the same digi that Kathy used on the cover for only $3 for a limited time. Come grab it if you need to add it to your stash.
Wasn't that a wonderful bit of show and tell this week? Doesn't it have you longing for spring so you can see all these lovelies in real life? I can honestly say it has me pining for sweet and pure spring flowers for sure. I know the Bloomies would agree and, guess what? They have a Power Poppy Parade all their own! So, hop on over and see what these fine ladies whipped up for all of you this week! We are so honored to be able to share their work with you....
Thanks folks for stopping by and spending a piece of your day with us! We hope you leave here with fresh ideas so that creative mojo can FLOW.
