Hi everyone! Corinne here today. I am so honored to be guest posting for Inspire me Monday. Thank you so much for having me!
I so love coloring with my Copics, but there are times where I just need a bit more depth. So, I have started using my Polychromos Colored Pencils to add that extra bit of shading. They make a huge difference. They are so smooth and just give the little extra “oomph” to make your image POP.
Today I am using the awesome Dancing with Daffodils Digital Stamp Set.
After coloring part of the flower pink using Copic markers, I added a bit of brown pencil for depth, adding the shading gently go into the crevices. Start by laying a light layer of brown. You can always go back and add more. I like to add it a little at a time to watch whatever I am coloring come to life.
I was having so much fun playing with this image that I just had to do it twice. This time, I colored the flowers in shades of yellow. I so love daffodils! I have tons of them in my flower beds in all different colors.
After coloring up the flowers in shades of yellow, I used a medium gray pencil to shade in the lines. I thought the gray added a nice depth to the yellow. Again, just add a little shading at a time.
So next time you are hoping to add a little bit more dimension to your Copic colored images, don't forget to reach for your colored pencils for that extra effect!
Thank you so much for joining me today! I hope this little tip inspires you in your own crafting space!
Have a wonderful week,
Gorgeous creations!

ReplyDeleteAmazing coloring and information
ReplyDeleteCorinne, your post is eye-opening! I love to see how you came at these variations in coloring the same image. I want to try to shade these as you've done, I especially love the highlights on the petals of the yellow daffodils - how you left those areas uncolored, they just POP!! Very nicely done. We're so happy you joined us here to share your talents!! Thank you! ~m
ReplyDeleteCorinne, thank you for the tips about using colored pencils. I used them once with the mistletoe and really helped to use the fine tip of the pencil. Thanks for sharing what colors you've used and how. It really helps to see the difference. Beautiful cards when finished too! Hugs!
