New Digital Download: Vital Rose

And sometimes.... the 10th. I guess as long as the date is divisible by 5, we’re okay. Regardless, here comes a beautiful rose illustration, rejuvenated, full of life, and vital to your collection of florals. It’s a digital download, so you can grab it whenever you’re ready to get coloring...

This rose is a beaut. It’s lush and open, with lots of room for your brush or marker tips. In the image I colored above, I started with generous washes of Daniel Smith watercolor. After that dried, I went in with Prismacolor Premier colored pencils, and then followed up with more watercolor and touches of opaque Winsor & Newton gouache.

Vital Rose includes a second version with the hand-lettered snippet of a poem. Here’s a peek at Instant Gardener Nancy Sheads’ beautiful Copic creation with the alternate version of Vital Rose...

Isn’t that fun? Go see the full image right here on Nancy’s blog, HERE, and check out the cheeky quote (written in 1815, but still made me laugh.)

Vital Rose is perfect for Valentine’s Day, but just like live roses, it holds up the rest of the year, too. That’s one of the reasons I named this set Vital Rose — it’s vital to have a really great rose in your collection, and a great image to practice on.

This morning while readying the card I made for a little photo shoot, I had the most wonderful production assistant. Tibbs thinks Vital Rose is indeed, vital. That Corgi is always in my corner.

Psssssst... a very special class is coming up on Friday, February 15 with Amy at Vanilla Arts. As a matter of fact, she is the one who inspired Vital Rose. If you take her coloring class, you will get a discount on this image, how about that?

Learn more about Amy’s newest class right HERE.

We’ll see you on Monday with a brand new Inspire Me Monday with Allison Cope. Be prepared to go into a full and complete swoon, folks.

Hello friends! We have a wonderful new image to share with you today — and the Instant Gardeners have created inspiring cards to help show off the possibilities ...

Our newest digital download has been a fan favorite in clear — there are just so many ways to color it up! Introducing Fall Wellies.

Fall Wellies is my illustration of a plaid “welly” boot, laden with falling Japanese Maple leaves. You’ll get two extra leaves to place wherever you want to bring a bit of colorful zing. Includes one sentiment, too!

This image is available right now in the Power Poppy shop HERE.

Come see what our wonderful designers have concocted with this new stamp set!

So happy we could spend a quite bit of time together this morning!! Be sure to scroll down for even more wonderful cards and news. PLUS: Join us for a surprise on World Cardmaking Day on October 6. Oh boy, that’s tomorrow!

Digis on the 5s: Season's Seatings

Hey hey, it’s Tuesday — and in place of Creative Confetti, today we have a new digital download to share. I’m reviving my schedule of releasing remixed illustrations on the 5th and 25th of the month:  “Digis on the 5s”. Look for familiar illustrations with new sentiments on these release days. On the 15th of each month, you’ll find a brand new digital download offering direct from my drawing board.

Today’s digital stamp release features a favorite illustration inspired by fall in the garden, updated to be even more versatile:

Season’s Seatings shares the rustic chair with a pumpkin bouquet from our So Grateful clear set — PLUS a second image of the pumpkin with dahlias and daisies in a larger format, ready to be the star of your card.

Season’s Seatings may satisfy your pumpkin spice cravings — coloring this image in shades of nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, and ginger, with plucky green accents! We have two stylish sentiments you may find yourself using again and again. Wouldn’t you love to see what the Instant Gardener designers did with this new digital set?

I am now officially in the mood for FALL! Thank you for joining us today.

Digis on the 5s: Trumpet Vine Visitor

Hello my friends, it’s a beautiful day to add a new digital download to the Power Poppy shop, don’t you think? I’m reviving my schedule of releasing remixed illustrations on the 5th and 25th of the month — we call it “Digis on the 5s” around these parts. Look for familiar illustrations given a freshening up along with new sentiments on these release days. On the 15th of the month, you’ll find a brand new digital download offering from my drawing board. Hope you’ll join us!

Today’s digital stamp release features a flowering vine with a sweet little hummingbird, introducing:

Trumpet Vine Visitor

An intricate, arching stem of trumpet vine heavy with blooms, leaves, and tendrils. We’ve made Trumpet Vine Visitor quite versatile, as you’ll find versions of the trumpet vine with and without a hummingbird, plus the hummingbird all by itself. A second leaf cluster is included in case you want to add more greenery. Rounding out this pretty set is a sunny sentiment for saying hello. Each image comes in black and light grey.

Trumpet Vine Visitor is exceptionally fun to color — I’ve put in lots of detail to help you know where to put your shadows and highlights. Drawing the veins on the petals and leaves is easy to follow, take a peek:

You’ll definitely want to see the cards and in one case — a cool shadow box!! — made by our wonderful designers. Today we are featuring the work of several of our Instant Gardeners! In the future, you may notice a few new names on our list of places to visit for inspiration... whether on the internet or on Instagram.

What a bunch of beauty right there, I tell you!! Thank you, thank you to Barbara, Broni, Nancy, and Rhea for putting their hearts into such gorgeous work featuring our new digi. Be sure to visit us on the 15th of September for our Instant Garden introduction, you aren’t going to want to miss it!
