Creative Confetti - Triple Play!

Hello everyone! Barbara Campbell here and I'm your guest host for this week's Creative Confetti Challenge. I got to thinking about the fall activities and here in Wisconsin, baseball was a big thing this fall. Our Brewers were trying hard to get to the playoffs. They made the wild card team, but better luck next year. This is what gave me the idea for this challenge. I am calling it Triple Play.

HOW TO PLAY: For this challenge, you need to use the same image three times on your project. That's it!

If you are making fall cards you could leaves or acorns. If you are working on your Christmas cards there are a lot of things that you could use. Snowflakes, candles, ornaments, I could go on, but I think you get the idea!


Here is my inspiration for you...

For my creation, I used Power Poppy's Under Glass Christmas Traditions stamp set.  Since I used non-traditional colors with the designer papers, I decided to go with that color scheme and decorated the trees in like colors. It's hard to see, but I used Nuvo drops on the white garlands and Glossy Accents on all of the blue ornaments. Don't forget to make your inside interesting too for your recipients, but that's not necessary for this challenge.

Day 9: Christmas Cracker & Place Card

Hello Everyone! Kathy here today with Day 9 of our 12 Days of Christmas extravaganza! If you are just joining us, you have some catching up to do! We are already at Day 9, so there are eight inspiring projects made by the talented Bloom Brigade that you won't want to miss!

Now what would Christmas be without the traditional Christmas Cracker ---- or Christmas Bon Bon as they are often known by here in Australia!  Hands up who wears the goofy tissue paper crowns on Christmas Day......I know there are more of you out there!!  ;)  You can either buy the pre-cut Cracker or even cut one yourself using a template or a Silhouette download.  I found a kit at my local store (yes it comes with the goofy tissue paper crowns) with the snaps, glitter and even jokes - but hey you can always print your own and even add special gifts inside!

Construct your cracker and then find some Christmas patterned paper and ribbon to tie the ends (with all your goodies inside).  Cut the paper to size and adhere to the middle of the cracker.

Stamp your chosen image - I've used Under Glass: Christmas Traditions - and colour with your favourite colouring medium.  I've stamped this fabby tree in Memento Tuxedo Black onto Blending Card and coloured with Copic Markers and then fussy cut the tree.  I've also cut a piece of golden brown card using Lacy Ovals Nestabilities and popped the tree up on foam tape.

I've then adhered the decorative panel to the middle of my cracker...

Since I was getting all crafty, I figured why not make a quick, matching place card!  Simply take a piece of white card, punch the bottom with a border punch and fold in half.  Add a piece of red card and add some sparkle with Glitter Tape.  I've added a white oval die cut (to write the name on - I would have done that but my writing is AWFUL, so I spared you that!) and then stamp the tree from Under Glass: Christmas Traditions, colour with Copics, fussy cut and pop up on foam tape!

Day 2: Gift Card Holders

Hello everyone! Stacy here with Day 2 of Power Poppy's 12 days of Christmas! If you missed Katie's post yesterday, you can check out the kick-off to our festivities HERE!  Instead of offering up one theme for our monthly Power & Spark Challenge, we are giving you 12 days of Christmas-themed ideas. All you have to do is try one and then link up your creation here on the Power and Spark Challenge post for December. Each time you try one of our projects and link it up, you are entered to win a $50 shopping spree to the Power Poppy Shop! Ideas & chances to win? That sounds like a win-win to me! 

Today, I am sharing an easy way to whip up a gift card holder for this time of year. So let's get started...

Under Glass Christmas Traditions is the stamp set I choose for my gift card holder and some designer paper. Decorative die is optional.

Cut a piece of solid cardstock 3-3/4 inches in width by 6-13/16 inches in length. Score along the length side at 2-1/4 inch and then 4-1/2 inch. Pre-fold score lines as above.

As you can see, I used an oval die shape. You can use an oval punch if you have one instead. This is used to create the opening needed to see the gift card inside. Die cut or punch desired opening.

Add adhesive along the edges as shown. Fold over and adhere to secure pocket.

Voila! You have your easy peasy gift card holder. Decorate as desired. You will see below that I have added a few layers to the front of the gift card holder. There are several decorative die bases that fit this which makes for an extra special touch.

I will admit -- I think I adore this little globe on the front of the gift card holder. Santa just looks so cute with his reindeer, doesn't he?  :-)  I colored the image with various Copic markers and then adhered it to some black cardstock and cut around for an edge. This is popped up using dimensionals as well. Some gold cord is wrapped around the base layers before adding to the gift card front. 

In the inside, I added a sentiment panel on the left using the globe. I then colored over the word YOU. For an added touch, I stamped a bow and popped it up in the corner of the pocket and added some sparkle. Voila!

Holiday Day 3: Under Glass Christmas Traditions

Happy day to you.

The mornings are beginning to be crisp and cool here at the Power Poppy HQ in St. Louis, Missouri, which means I am enjoying writing today’s blog post from my favorite spot in the house... across from the fireplace. Coffee in hand, laptop on lap, cat also on lap, puppy lapping up something or other that he probably shouldn’t be lapping... life is good. The rest of the day will likely be a blur of driving kids to and fro, scrambling to complete design deadlines while kids are at school, grocery shopping, errand running — I truly cherish quiet mornings. Breathe in, breathe out. :)

Surrounded by coziness and calm, we’re ready to launch forward with Day 3 of Happiest Holiday sneak peeks — and I’m filled with enthusiasm to introduce this one to you! Have you been able to see the first two days of bombastic Bloomie posts? Scroll on down if you want to catch up — so far we’ve had a cheery snowman with Nordic details and a rustic woodsy set, and the cards the ladies have created are nothing short of astounding! CLOCHE CRAZY lately?

Put all the things under glass! Domes, bell jars, cloches, Mason Jars, juice glasses — I don’t care what it is, but QUICK, find something really cute and stick it underneath!! What happens when you put something “under glass”? Well, my friends, it’s a hard to pinpoint, but the between the reflection of the glass, the whimsy of the contents, and a little bit of Christmas magic, everything just looks EVEN CUTER.

With THREE holiday vignettes, a tall glass dome with a decorative wooden base, floating ribbon accent, and a couple of sentiments, you’ve got everything you need for extreme cuteness.
