Introducing the New Bloom Brigade

Hello, friends. It is with deep gratitude and joy that I introduce the Power Poppy Design Team. We are a 21-strong force for kindness, creativity, and can-do spirit. These ladies come from all over the world — and all across the U.S. — each with a unique outlook and style. They share, teach, and inspire, but you may notice that our “Bloomies” are not quite like any other design team out there. They go beyond being an incredibly talented group of women. The Bloomies courageously design from the heart and soul, and it is reflected in their work. I feel drawn to them, to their interpretations of my illustrations and designs, because I myself am inspired by the magical way they create. Let’s meet everyone again! I’ve asked everyone to share their “words to live by.” Enjoy the virtual meet-up!

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.

Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added affliction He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources,
Our Father’s full giving has only begun.

His love has no limit, His grace has no measure;
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!

At the end of her life it took eight pillows to cradle her body because she was so covered with sores from head to toe. And yet, this is what she wrote.

The Lord will guide you always;
    he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
    and will strengthen your frame.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
    like a spring whose waters never fail.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Hi All, this is SathyaKala. I recently relocated to India after 12 years of expatriate life in Taiwan and United Arab Emirates. I am a Toxicologist by qualification and have a pulsating desire to pursue my Doctorate. I am married to my best friend, a Toxicologist Professor and Researcher and we are blessed with an 11 year old son. Being the child of an oil painting artist, I have loved arts and crafts since my childhood. Started crafting and blogging with Quilling as my passion and participated several times in UK’s Quilling Guild competitions and published in UK Quiller magazine. Slowly I branched out as a stamper, cardmaker, mixed media artist and brush calligrapher.
Learning new art forms keeps my mind fresh and inventive. I find that one passion crosses over the next, and gives a different spin to it.
