Now I’d like to share the inspiration for today’s reveal...

You can call it a fascination, obsession whatever you want, but I have a huge crush on ornamental cabbage and kale. In fact, the more research I’ve done and photos I’ve looked at, I’m convinced that they might be the coolest foliage plants in the world. Now that’s saying something! Usually in the fall, I’ll tuck a few in with the pumpkins on the stairs out front, but after researching for this stamp set, I feel like planting the entire front yard with purple and pink kale!

Introducing Cabbage and Kale

This stamp set is probably one of my favorite things I’ve ever drawn, my friends!! And surely it’s one of the most unique. I’ve already colored up a whole bunch of these things and started playing with them myself...

Cabbage and Kale has four images of varying sizes — and I’m offering coordinating dies too! Whether you design a little garden straight out of a Beatrix Potter story, or layer them up in fun ways,  or make little round gift tags, these illustrations are just a blast to color and bring to life. I can't wait for you to see the Bloom Brigade’s cards — they are TOTAL SHOWSTOPPERS.

Natural Wonders clear collection: Day 3

Day 3 rolling along here... and this one should really get you in the fall spirit if you aren’t already. Gotta say, though... each of the stamp sets in this collection can really be used year-round. I’ve tried to make the imagery versatile enough to not get stuck in a pile of fall stamps in the corner of your craft room. These babies can be used in spring, summer, AND fall — you’ll soon see how even today’s set has a cross-over vibe.

Let me get you in the mood for today’s peeks...

When you come upon a scene this enchanting, you gotta stop and take some pumpkin pix! Like the hops vine I shared yesterday, this antiques shop is also in one of the picturesque towns in Brown County, Indiana. I loved how they made fun displays throughout their shop featuring pumpkins mixed with country-quaint antiques. It got me to thinking....

Introducing Fortunes of Fall

First, take a minute and soak in that adorable card in our graphic up there!! Isn’t Ally Cope’s card OFF-THE-CHARTS CUTE? Be sure to visit Ally’s blog to see the whole thing, there are details covered up in the graphic that you gotta see in her post.

We’ve got the sweet lil’ pumpkin vignette, and two more scenes for you to stamp and color. What do you think about Zinnias?

I thought you’d like those!! What delicious shades of these marvelous varieties, I could hardly capture them all in one shot. This is the bounty from visiting the most darling booth (Flower Hill Farm) at the Schlafly Farmer’s Market the other day — a couple selling herbs, interesting fruits and vegetables, AND flowers by the stem while their toddlers toddled about underfoot. What a heartwarming spot to visit!

Fortunes of Fall features a whimsical scene of vintage bottles and vases, each with a perky Zinnia popped inside. The inspiration for the illustration came directly from my kitchen, where earlier this year, I grouped a bunch of random vessels together to hold Oriental Lily sprigs, which had broken off their larger stalks. Our Bloomie Stacy Morgan said, “That would be a great idea for a stamp! A mix of vases, but all with the same kind of flower in them!” I had to agree and set to work drawing it. When it comes to Zinnias, though, there is so much variety to the flower forms, I had to mix them up a bit. I snapped photos of Zinnias in my own garden, and in those of my neighbors’ who had some awesome selections. It takes a village to design a stamp set!

One last hint at the images in today’s peeks...

Might look familiar from a certain digital stamp in our line up! And now it’s coming out in clear, streamlined a bit, and ready to be colored up in a harvest rainbow!

Quick reminder:
Place your order on release day, September 15, and get a discount on your new stamps with a code we’ll announce tomorrow. We’ll have sale prices on summer and fall stamps and a new digital image to boot! Saturday is going to ROCK.

Natural Wonders clear collection: Day 2!

Hello again! I sure hope you’re enjoying the Bloom Brigade’s awesome previews of my newest clear stamp collection. They’ve done an outstanding job with their cards, so much imagination put into each and every creation — we hope you find endless inspiration when you see them.

Today we have a rather cheeky set that incorporates the world-wide love of beer with a whimsical look at botany. Add in a few puns, and this may become a go-to set when a masculine card is needed. But of course it works for women, too, as you’ll soon see.

Quick reminder: Place an order on release day, September 15, and you’ll get a special discount!

---------------------------------------------------

We introduced the largest image in this set last fall — the popular digi Hops and Barley. But we’ve expanded on it in the clear version, with lots of fun sentiments and accent images, plus a second focal image that can be colored up so many ways....

Introducing O Hoppy Day

We’ve taken a different approach with our beer-themed set, where the main focus are the ingredients that give ales, stouts, pilsners, and lagers their distinct flavors. Crazy to think that beer is just fermented plants, and some of those plants are quite decorative! Hops are the flowers from a hop vine, bringing bitterness, depth, and a range of fruity-citrusy flavors to beer. I happened to see one used as decoration outside a shop while visiting Brown County, Indiana last fall...

While Hops are vivid shades of green and yellow while fresh, they dry to warm toasty tones, perfect for fall. Hops are light and wispy, almost like tiny pinecones made of paper. In my drawing of them, I’ve gone a bit rogue and imagined a vine where Barley and Hops exist together — my own personal hybrid! It’s a great image to bring to life, with plenty of ways to add your unique spin.

Here is an interesting article about the “Botany of Beer” from Longwood Gardens, bookmark it for later!

A second focal image is an Imperial Pint glass — which you can color up to be as light or as dark as you want to go — it depends on the favorite beer of your intended recipient! Be sure to add some fluffy foam to the top, as you’ll see a few of our designers have done.

What’s really great about O Hoppy Day are the puns. We have several that fit inside a bottle cap stamp, and a few others to serve as focal sentiments. Wishing your dad a Hoppy Father’s Day will surely bring a smile to his face!

See you tomorrow for DAY 3 of our sneak previews — where we bring you a set of vignettes that will have you doing a happy dance (at least I hope you will ... I do aim to please!)

Natural Wonders Collection previews: Chrysanthemum XL

Good day to you! Welcome to a four-day unfurling of our latest visual feast. This group of stamps — and a few coordinating dies — is nothing short of FUN. Some are almost addictive to color and come up with new palette possibilities. Here’s a little more about how the collection was conceived...

Natural Wonders Collection
Every time we wander outside, there’s the opportunity to experience natural beauty. Whether walking in your neighborhood or taking a trip across the country. My newest stamp designs are an exploration and celebration of some of my favorite plants, personally selected with the colorist in mind, and especially perfect for fall. Whether it’s the rosy orange hue on a pumpkin, or the detailed purple venation of ornamental kale, there is so much to delight your pencil, paintbrush, or marker-clad fingers. You’ll see a few familiar images from favorite digis, presented in a great size for stamping with new sentiments.

There are coordinating dies for a few sets, too!
If you wait until release day, September 15 to order, we’ll have a special discount for you...

---------------------------------------------------

Today is a special introduction to kick things off... I’m going to get right to it, as I think our lil graphic here speaks for itself....

Introducing Chrysanthemum XL

With a swirly, sweeping design, this is the Mum you’ve been waiting for! Chrysanthemum XL is a large-scale flower, nearly 4” across. The petals reach out, almost tickling the air, and I have to tell you, there is no wrong way to orient this flower. It just looks cool no matter how you use it. When paired with the individual leaves, stem, and petal images, you can create your own scene. But the flower works so well on its own, you may not even need the green stuff!

Our Bloom Brigade designers have created some truly incredible cards showing off this dynamic flower today, be sure to visit everyone’s blogs so you don’t miss a gorgeous moment...

Enjoy the tour of Chrysanthemum XL, my awesome friends. I hope you envision how you would use this set, putting your personal verve into your cards, and sharing the beauty with a lucky recipient! Come back tomorrow for another set that rocks the natural vibe — but with a look that really speaks to the guys in our lives.
