Creative Confetti: Birthday Wishes!

Hello friends! It's Tuesday and that means it's time for a brand new Creative Confetti challenge! Can you believe we're easing into the middle of October already? I love October for a few reasons but my favorite reason is that it's my birthday month! My birthday was Oct.11 and my husband and I headed to one of my favorite places in Alaska - Seward. It's a wonderful little town and I love escaping to there every year.

So what does this have to do with Creative Confetti you ask? Well, let's get a birthday card made this week! I always seem low on birthday cards in my stash so now is the perfect time to get one or two added to the pile.

HOW TO PLAY: Create a birthday card, it's that easy!

On to my creation....

Since I have a fall birthday, I decided to use an autumn-themed image on my card. I went with a pumpkin filled with flowers, an image found in the Season's Seatings digital set, which you can find HERE.

I brought my copics and image with me on our trip so I could color at the end of the evening. Thankfully, I usually print out 2-3 copies of the same image so I can have several on hand and that turned out to be a good thing. The dreaded marker blob happened as I was getting to the end of my coloring on the first image I started. Needless to say, my husband heard me utter some colorful words and then I grabbed the backup image I had brought with me.

Does the layout look familiar? I used the layout from Julie's Creative Confetti Sketch on Sept.29th, which you can still play along with!

I was going to put my sentiment on the front but after hemming and hawing about it for a while I finally decided to leave a sentiment off the front and I added it to the inside of the card instead. The birthday sentiments I used can be found in the clear set Party Time. This set is retiring but you can currently still grab one HERE at a discounted price!

Want to join me this week? Simply create, post and then link up using the linky below! As we always say, if you get those fingers inky and play along, each and every link is an opportunity to win a $25 gift code to the Power Poppy Shop!

Thanks for stopping by!

To decorate the card base we used the cake on a plate from the Party Time stamp set, the forget-me-not flowers and the butterfly from the Soothing Sympathy stamp set, the potted Primroses and the single Primrose bloom from the Potted Primroses, the tea cup and saucer and the little daisy and the strawberry from the Tea in the Garden set and finally the champagne glasses from the Dream Wedding stamp collection.

You Say It's Your BIRTHDAY!

Hello my sweet stamping friends! Today's bit of Creative Confetti that we throw up is actually going to be doing double duty! Why? We're celebrating here! Not only is it your Chief Confetti Thrower's birthday (that would be me)! I share this special day with one absolutely fabulous Bloomie! Yep. The wonderful Tosha Leyendekker will also be blowing out some birthday candles today too! We're not going to tell you how "young" we are -- let's leave that to your imagination. In light of the double party going on here in Montana and California, I decided we should let everyone feel a little bit of celebration on their hearts. Check out this week's Creative Confetti Challenge!

Just that simple! We also hope that as you are making it or after you make it you create some plans to actually give it to someone special!

On to my creation!

If you'll remember, I colored up this little image HERE in a past Creative Confetti Challenge and so there it was.... just sitting there waiting for me! ;-) If you want to see the colors of Copics that I used, all you need to do is follow the link above!

Since I colored it up, I did add a little razzle-dazzle thanks to some glitter glue and a Spica glitter pen. See?

The rest is just matting it all up! I tried to incorporate most of the colors that I used on my cake but missed out on the green. It is a bit *loud* but that's okay -- it's a birthday creation and should be loud and happy! I also added in some sequins after I was done as well for a little extra bit of celebration! :-)

And that, my friends, is it! Help Tosh and I celebrate! We can't wait to see what you come up with. Once you're done, of course, be sure to link up your creation so that everyone can see your awesomeness! And, if you do, you'll be in the running for a $25 gift code to the Power Poppy Shop! One random winner is chosen every month. We could all use a little extra Power Poppy goodness, right? So dig out your favorite stamps to show a little birthday cheer and get those fingers inky! ;-)

Happy Stamping!

Creative Confetti: Just Color!

Hello sweet and sassy stampers! Are you ready for another Creative Confetti Challenge -- where we throw up a bit of inspiration for you to enjoy and hopefully be inspired by? Well, it's that time and this one is good for the soul!

HOW TO PLAY:
Just color up one of your favorite images and show us all the progress shot! So, why take us up on this challenge? First of all, if you are the random winner at the end of our month-long challenge, you'll win a $25 gift code to the Power Poppy Shop! But above that, and that's pretty darn awesome, there are physical benefits to coloring! Yep, there are! Your brain enters a meditative state when you color throwing off the day's stress and anxiety! Negative thoughts are put aside, helping you to be mindful of the moment. It helps us unplug! Now that you know the physical benefits, here's another reason why we latched onto this challenge for the week! It's because of this, my sweet friends!

That's right, our crafting bestie Kathy Racoosin sparked yet another Daily Coloring Challenge on November 1st and we have to join in, right? We have to throw open those markers and help her feel the love, right? (Psst. click the daily coloring challenge link for more details and don't forget to use the #thedailymarker30 hashtag if you post on social media!)

So, let's get to it! For my creation today, I knew I wanted to color up some Birthday Wishes! A friend of mine heads up a card ministry in her church and wanted me to help her color up some goodness. It's her job to share birthday wishes with the entire church. Can you imagine? So, of course, I said YES! I grabbed this little cake image from Power Poppy's Party Time stamp set and created an explosion of color!

This little number is colored up with fun colorific fanfare using the Copic Markers next to the image plus a lighter version of each to fade out to the sides. I added some BV00 and BV02 to the bottom of the cake to help shade and used RV0000 and RV00 to add a little glow around the top. Just that simple folks!

Here's a little closeup for you!

Did you happy stampers play along with Creative Confetti at all during the month of October? You did? Awwwww... so glad! Listen up sweet peeps! After throwing all those amazing, colorful, creative and beautiful entries into the mix, this is the number that Random.org drew!

And that means the winner is.....

HOW TO PLAY: Here's what Ms. Ally has to say....

We find inspiration all around us! I always am gawking at the amazing fabrics we wear, fabrics we use to upholster our furniture and the fabrics we lay over us at night. So this month, take a look at some fabric swatches that inspire you and use them as a stepping stone to create a fun card.

When it comes to inspiration, Ally DOES NOT disappoint. First up, she had a fabulous link to a board she created on Pinterest FULL of inspiration for you.

Now let’s take a look at the card Ally created too using Power Poppy’s clear stamp set Pure Prairie Spirit. (We should mention this amazing illustration also comes as a digital stamp set - Pure Prairie Bouquet - as well...). Inspire Me Monday: Creating Fun Backgrounds

Howdy all!  Happy Monday!  Welcome to Inspire Me Monday!  I'm Allison Cope your hostess this week.

This week I was inspired by a re-occurring dream I've been having about a linear repeating pattern.  Yes... I dream about creating!  Do you??? So I decided to use my dream as inspiration to create some fun backgrounds on my cards today.

So here are my finished cards using our lined pattern and our gorgeous new stamp set, "Soothing Sympathy" stamp set...

So in the end, I didn't like how small the original stamped greeting was so I cut it off in a funky matter and created a shaker card using the remaining part of the circle.  I stamped my new greeting from the "Nice Things To Say" stamp collection inside the shaker aspect instead. I added all kinds of sequins and fun silver microbeads to match the colour scheme of the card inside.

As I had indicated in the video, I cut the larger panel I had created using Ranger Distress Inks down to a piece that I was happy with.  I didn't want to take away too much from the funky panel so I only added a simple gold embossed, yet large greeting form the "Big Scripts" stamp set to the front plus a few turquoise sequins.

For my final card, I kept it extremely simple.  I die cut some cute little hearts from the light purple cardstock background, added some violet sequins and added my focal panel with dimensional adhesive.  Voila!

I hope I've inspired you today go and create some fun background pieces.  Grab some fun, bright colours and a thin pen and have a ball!  Thanks for stopping by!
