Inspire Me Monday ~ Make it a Mini!

Howdy all!  Allison Cope here!  Welcome to Inspire Me Monday!

Today I thought I'd share just a little something with you... some Mini Cards!

I cut some cardstock pieces to 3"x6" and scored them in half at 3".

Then I stamped and colored each little card.  I used the "Under Glass" stamp set for all my cards today.

These little mini cards would make a great little gift to give a neighbour or a friend.

I hope you a chance to make some fun little mini cards too!

Have a great week!

For our card today I used the cups & cupcake image from the Under Glass stamp set.  Our birthday sentiment on the back of the tag came from the Floribunda stamp set.

To decorate the card base we used the cake on a plate from the Party Time stamp set, the forget-me-not flowers and the butterfly from the Soothing Sympathy stamp set, the potted Primroses and the single Primrose bloom from the Potted Primroses, the tea cup and saucer and the little daisy and the strawberry from the Tea in the Garden set and finally the champagne glasses from the Dream Wedding stamp collection.

Here’s a photo of the front of the card…

This is the back of the card again…

This is the card from the side showing how it stands up…

And finally, this is the card folded flat to fit inside an envelope!  Hooray!

Thanks for joining me!  See you again soon!  Happy stamping!

Inspire Me Monday: Pretty in Plaid!

Howdy all!  Happy Monday and welcome to another Inspire Me Monday!  I’m your hostess today, Allison Cope.

I do have to first apologize for my post being late.  Today is Thanksgiving Day here in Canada and I’ve had family here visiting all week so my crafty time was limited and I left my creative time until last minute.

Today we’re going to take about adding PLAID to all your creations! I don't’ know about you, but I LOVE plaid!  I could use it on my cards everyday!  I can be seasonally coloured, it can be bright and bold and subtle and soft.

For my first use of plaid, I have used my Copic Markers and have coloured in my rubber boot from the “Feeling Fall” stamp set using different shades of red, green and yellow.  Marcy’s image already indicates that these cute little fall wellies are covered with a plaid pattern so I went with it!  The grand sentiment on this card is from the “Chrysanthemum XL” stamp set.

Secondly, for your card creations try adding a fun plaid patterned paper.  Since my Mom, Mary, was visiting I persuaded her to accompany me in colouring and creating a card with me.  She chose the Autumn rubber boots image so I used the same stamp in my card too (above). She chose a sentiment from the “Under Glass” stamp set for her card.

And lastly, I wanted to create my very own plaid so I chose to work with the “Snuggle Down” stamp set which has 4 plaid making stamp images in it!  Brilliant right?!?!

I used a 1” wide masking tape and taped off stripes and inked them with Distress Oxide Inks first and then I added some of the striped stamped images over top to create that final plaid detail!  So cool!  I used the “Cabbage and Kale” stamp set to finish off my card.

So the next time you need some inspiration for your cards, think about using some PLAID!

Now go forth and create!  Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians!

Holiday Day 3: Under Glass Christmas Traditions

Happy day to you.

The mornings are beginning to be crisp and cool here at the Power Poppy HQ in St. Louis, Missouri, which means I am enjoying writing today’s blog post from my favorite spot in the house... across from the fireplace. Coffee in hand, laptop on lap, cat also on lap, puppy lapping up something or other that he probably shouldn’t be lapping... life is good. The rest of the day will likely be a blur of driving kids to and fro, scrambling to complete design deadlines while kids are at school, grocery shopping, errand running — I truly cherish quiet mornings. Breathe in, breathe out. :)

Surrounded by coziness and calm, we’re ready to launch forward with Day 3 of Happiest Holiday sneak peeks — and I’m filled with enthusiasm to introduce this one to you! Have you been able to see the first two days of bombastic Bloomie posts? Scroll on down if you want to catch up — so far we’ve had a cheery snowman with Nordic details and a rustic woodsy set, and the cards the ladies have created are nothing short of astounding! So, what do we have for our third new stamp set?

Have you noticed that everybody is going
CLOCHE CRAZY lately?

Put all the things under glass! Domes, bell jars, cloches, Mason Jars, juice glasses — I don’t care what it is, but QUICK, find something really cute and stick it underneath!! What happens when you put something “under glass”? Well, my friends, it’s a hard to pinpoint, but the between the reflection of the glass, the whimsy of the contents, and a little bit of Christmas magic, everything just looks EVEN CUTER.

See what I mean when you take a gander at this peek from Under Glass: Christmas Traditions.

With THREE holiday vignettes, a tall glass dome with a decorative wooden base, floating ribbon accent, and a couple of sentiments, you’ve got everything you need for extreme cuteness.

If you already enjoyed our spring-and-summer themed cloche stamp set, Under Glass, this one is a great companion. The images are a little bit larger, and as with the other set, are ideal under the dome, but are equally cute on their own.

You don’t have to take my word for it, just see what the Bloom Brigade has created with Under Glass: Christmas Traditions.

Eeeeeee!!! We’re those adorable?! Seriously, I want to put all the things under glass. Our kids are lucky that I haven’t popped a giant cloche on top of both of them, holding Tibbs the Power Poppy while wearing Santa hats and dappled in fake snow. Yes, they are lucky indeed. SEE YOU TOMORROW — this next one is going to make you do a double-take at just what kind of barber has been tending to Santa Claus’ beard.

Abundance, Day 5: Under Glass, and ALL SETS AVAILABLE!!

Hello my friends — and thank you so much for coming by the Power Poppy blog today, I’ve been enjoying my visits with you all week. I’m offering a fun promotion where you can save up to $30 on your order — scroll all the way down for the discount codes!

But first, let’s take a look under the glass...

Introducing a really sweet new clear stamp set, Under Glass. This set is pretty near and dear to my heart, because I love the idea of displaying objects under glass — whether you call it a cloche, bell jar, or glass dome, the concept is the same. Elevating what might be everyday objects by arranging them under sparkling glass, what a neat concept. It’s very “in” right now in the decorating world, and I thought it would be way too cute to bring into our card making world, too. Here are a few Pinterest photos of what I’m referring to....

Aren’t these the sweetest, most charming little scenes? Cloches were originally intended to act as miniature greenhouses, you’d place them atop tender plants in the garden to help generate warmth in the soil to keep a young or at-risk plant alive during chilly temps. But now, as you can see, people are coming up with all kinds of neat uses for these special glass domes. (I actually saw terra-cotta cloches when visiting Monticello, and thought that was SO neat, yet kind of a bummer that you could not peek at the vegetables underneath!)

Just wait until you see what the Bloom Brigade did with this set — I SWOON!!

NOW — GET THIS — EVERYTHING IS AVAILABLE TODAY!! And, when you buy two or more clear stamps at Power Poppy, you can save $$$$$. Check this out:
