Friday

It's Power Poppy Friday!

Hello everyone! Well, we are in the thick of fall and if you haven't busted out the orange, rust and shades of olive yet on your cards or creations, what are you waiting for? There's a bevy of beauty outside (in most parts of the world) that's sure to inspire! I thought I'd round up a little fall inspiration for you, just to help you kick off your creative weekend.

If you want to see more of this creation, you'll have to scroll down to our Bloom Brigade Blog Roll and click on Christine's name. This is just a snippet of the amazing card she shared on her blog today using The Fox and the Moth digital stamp set. I just absolutely am awestruck by the depth Christine always brings to her colored works of art. Truly incredible.

I thought I'd share one of my favorite fall cards. I remember distinctly spending oodles of time coloring up this fall wagon full of pumpkins and gourds --taking time to "google" different gourds to see how the color variation played out in nature. The Fall Haul Digital Stamp (which is on sale right now for $2.99) is a super fun image and one that is perfect for this time of year!

Who doesn't love a pair o' wellies when the cold, wet weather hits and this one is decked out so cutely by the lovely Katie Sims. She used Power Poppy's Fall Wellies Digital Stamp Set (this one is on sale for $2.99 as well!) I absolutely adore the plaid paper she added along with those stitched elements. So cute!

Don't you just love the touches of teal in Ally Copes creation above using Power Poppy's Fortunes of Fall stamp set? And those painted touches on the pumpkins? Adorable! Of course, her coloring is to die for as well and the way she always ties all the colors and patterns together in every creation she makes!

I don't know about you, but just seeing these fall hues brings a peaceful easy feeling over me! I hope they inspire you!

Thanks so much for stopping by and getting our little dose of fall inspiration! You might notice that when we shared a few projects, some of those images were on sale. Have you checked out Power Poppy's Sale Page lately? There are some goodies on there just ripe for the picking! Okay, that was your enabler alert!

Hope you have a blessed weekend and we will see you back here Monday with the fabulous Amy Shulke for another Inspire Me Monday! She's going to be previewing her latest Power Poppy Livestream Class with a beauty of an image that's perfect for Fall!

See you back here then!

Inspire Me Monday: The Best of FALL!

Well folks, we are now a few days into one of the most colorful seasons of the year -- my personal favorite -- Autumn! And, what better time to pull out the orange, crimson and amber shades of decorative paper, ribbon and buttons than now! We thought since we are fresh into fall, it would be fun to comb through the Inspire Me Monday archives to find some of the best tutorials that truly capture this beautiful time of year.

ARE YOU READY FOR OUR TOP 5?

5. Sunflower Spinner!
Click on over to Ally Cope's tutorial where she puts the spin on one of our favorite harvest time blossoms (Sunflower Power) with a truly unique and fall-themed spinner card!

Have you ever used embossing paste? Well, Christine brings out the feel of fall with this beautiful background and then puts a gorgeously colored autumn scene on display! (So Grateful) Psst. if you like this image in clear, I have a little hint for you... you might want to check back for tomorrow's digital stamp set release. Yep, that was a hint! ;-)

3. Ink Smash!
Sometimes, we just gotta get messy and let that vibrant color take over. That's exactly what Dina Kowal did with this fun technique called Ink Smash. Click the link and you'll even find a video showing you a step-by-step video giving you all the deets you need to pull off this look with Power Poppy's Sunny Harvest set.

2.  Coloring Up Fall
Colorista Mindy Baxter shows us exactly how to color up these fall fruits in rich hues using Copic Markers. Cue up this tutorial, grab your markers, your Fall Haul digi stamp if you have it and a cuppa your favorite beverage and that's what I call a great way to spend an afternoon!

1. Chalkboard Sunflowers
Use the trendy look of chalkboard behind your digital stamps in this ab fab video by Ally Cope. She used a chalkboard design behind Power Poppy's Sunflower Power image, but honestly, if you follow the tutorial, you can add all kinds of patterns behind any one of Power Poppy's digital stamps. This, my friends, is one of those "can't miss" tutorials! We happen to love it now because of it's fall flair!

We hope you've enjoyed this "Best Of Inspire Me Monday," and we hope you found some inspiration! Sometimes, you just need to scroll through past tutorials to realize how many there are in the Power Poppy archives that maybe you didn't try yet or really need to try again!

Have a wonderful week everyone! Be sure to tune back in tomorrow for another Instant Garden release. I can't wait to see what new image "sprouts" in the Power Poppy Shop!

Until next time!

Inspire me Monday - Coloring Fall Fruit Copic Marker Tutorial with Mindy

Hello my lovely Power Poppy Friends! It's Mindy from My Creative Scoop and I have another Copic Tutorial to share with you all. Today I'm using this gorgeous Digi Stamp, Fall Haul. I just love the colors of all these Fall fruits and their deep rich tones.

In this tutorial I'll be using the following Copic Markers.

YR00, YR12, YR14, YR04, Y11, Y35, G20, G82, G85, R59, E30, E31, E33, E49, E44, B0000

I just love how the browns add so much of that natural look to the fruits making them look much more realistic. This Fall Haul digi stamp is PERFECT if you're still learning shadows with your coloring since there's a little shading in the image itself so you know where to add those shadows.

Well, I sure hope I've inspired you to follow along this tutorial. Get your Fall Haul Digi Stamp today and let's color!

New Digi on the 5s: Fall Haul

We’ve got something fun to introduce today (golly, aren’t most things pretty fun around these parts? How lucky are we?) — it’s a rustic remix of a fall image from my archives, and I was so excited to bring it back to life as digi, I had to get into the coloring action!

Out came my watercolor palette and my tin of brushes, and onto the couch I plunked. Someday my back is going to seek revenge on me for what I put it through by painting cross-legged on the sofa and leaning toward the lamplight... but that is for another time.... because for now we have this fun digi that you can download TODAY and get right to coloring!

I just SWOON at the sight of pumpkins all piled up like this. So much so, I may have to go out and load up for the season this very week, as our farmers’ markets and local street corners are already starting to taunt us with their hay bales, corn stalks, and gourd displays. I’m ready for my own personal Fall Haul. And with that, here is our newest remix to share with you today:

http://powerpoppy.com/products/fall-haul

You can get this baby straightaway and plunk down in your own coloring spot to have some fun with these pun’kins! Would you like to see more inspiration from some of the most amazing colorists in the land? I know I can’t resist an invitation like that... let’s go ogle!

Don’t forget to grab this one for yourself if you’re the fall-lovin’ type! I can personally vouch that it is a hoot to color. I might have another go with it later today.

Have a wonderful day, my sweets!
