Inspire Me Monday: Interactive Tag Card

Howdy all!  Welcome to Inspire Me Monday!  I'm Allison Cope your hostess today at Power Poppy.

I am a HUGE fan of fun and interactive cards.  I love being able to send a handmade creation where someone physically gets to interact with their card... for example, something pop-s up when you pull a tab or am element rotates or swings on the card front.

So today I thought that I would share a super-duper easy-peasy interactive tag card tutorial with you.

Since Autumn is just around the corner (it's showing it's self here already in Alberta!) I thought I would pull out a stamp set from last year and a brand new one too!  So I grabbed the amazingly gorgeous "Olive & Oak Expanded" stamp collection the "Prairie Cheer" stamp set too!

So first I'm actually going to start you off with how to make this super simple card and then below you'll find a sped-up video if you'd like to see the colouring of my focal image.  Enjoy...

And for those of you that really enjoy colouring, come and check out this video where I coloured the brilliant trio of oak leaves, acorns and olives...

Here's a quick peek of my card...

And here it is with it's tag showing...

I hope I've inspired you today to get out and colour and create!

~ Ally ~

Dear Amazing Ally, TWO BEAUTIFUL VIDEOS!! I thank you for your generous sharing of your skills and your expertise. You make Inspire Me Monday the most awesome, helpful, inspiring place to learn! I love the way you approached this card project, your palette drawn from the designer paper was expertly executed, and filled with such warmth and lovely contrast. Then that little pull-out tag was beyond clever. After watching, I know that I could make one of these, and that is saying something, because I am a bit patience-challenged when it comes to measuring and lining things up. Thank you again, superstar!

I just love the colors. Where I'd the background paper from? I am just getting started with Copic markers and you make it look so easy. You do beautiful work. Thanks for putting a smile in my heart today.
Question: Designer of plaid background paper.

This is a beautiful card to say the least. I'm interested in the coloring I am new to alcohol pens. Why do you sometimes start with the darkest color and sometimes the lightest? Thank You for sharing this idea.

Your card is lovely. The first time I coloured it, I did all the olives brown! I thought they were acorns without the tops. OOPS! Still laughing and I am about to make another card - with olives. :)

Hi Bonnie! Sorry this answer is a little late but... it's a 6x6 paper pad called "Perfectly Plaid: Fall" by Lawn Fawn. Happy creating!

Hi Becky! Everyone is different when colouring alcohol markers. Some people start with the lightest and some people the darkest. It's personal preference. Happy colouring!
