My friends, today is the VERY LAST DAY to enter our June Bug Challenge. Create something featuring an insect friend and you could win a $50 Shopping Spree at Power Poppy in our random drawing. Here’s an entry to get those buggy wheels turning — Charleen Gribben (@cgribben on Instagram) brought our Pure Prairie Bouquet digital stamp to beautiful, vibrant life. It may be that I have a thing with dots (I mean, have you looked at my artwork? I can’t stop stippling!) — but I just LOVE how Charleen’s white pen added such élan to the petals of the coneflower and Indian paintbrush. The dots mimic the spots in the Monarch wings — don’t you love when that happens? And what lovely coloring on ALL of the flowers. Beautiful, Charleen!!
NOTE: If you are a fan of this bouquet but have been hoping to see it in polymer, bebop back over to the Power Poppy Shop for our July clear release.
Get inspiration from our Mood Board! This week, Finn and I went to the St. Louis Art Museum to check out an exhibit on botanical themes in textiles and pottery (honestly, it wasn’t as profound as I was hoping). HOWEVER, while trying to find the exhibit gallery, we traipsed all through the museum, and came upon a heart-stopping display of Chinese porcelain and ceramics. Now THIS was the greatness I was hoping for! The vase above is estimated to be from the late 1700s during the Qing Dynasty, made in the Jingdezhen region of China, which was the epicenter of porcelain production. I would love to see your card creations based on this magnificent piece. No matter what you take from it (highlighting multiple flowers on a single card front? Using a gold pen to outline an oval die? Fussy cutting a flower and laying it over a dramatic background?) feel free to link up your design here to show everyone how you’ve been inspired.
As we approach the Fourth of July here in the States, I must draw attention to this spectacular card by founding Bloom Brigade member, Leslie Miller. Using our La Vie en Rose digi, along with a sentiment from our freebie Patriotic downloads, Leslie created such an imaginative, ebullient tribute to our country’s ideals! Read all about her card in this post. I want to add that this card was originally posted at Leslie’s previous blog, and now she has a new blog address, and she still creates often with Power Poppy stamps. We love our Leslie!!

Oh, how I delight in seeing photos of Bloomie Allison Cope’s backyard. Yep, this serene scene of God’s incredible work is just a few steps away from her back door in the countryside of Alberta, Canada. When I asked Ally how she was so very lucky to find this gem, she said, “We typed one word into the real estate search engine, ‘Lake’ and one house popped up: this one!!” If you follow Ally on Instagram (@allisoncopeisreals), you not only get to see her highly creative cards, but peeks into this spot, where wildlife spottings are frequent and sunset photos are the stuff of dreams.

Ohhh, so happy to see that first stamp set will be out soon!!! LOVE that one, and while digital is fine, it's hard to use on the thicker paper I have for colored pencils! Yippee!! Sadly I'll probably have to wait a bit to get it, since I'm trying to get a party together for my parent's 50th anniversary in September, and July and probably August, I won't have much extra money. I know for sure July's is pretty much gone now, and the month hasn't even started. *roll eyes* BUT...hopefully this fall I can order it, cause I LOVE it!!! Thanks for the hint!! :-)) Love the stamp set on sale for the weekend too...but darn it, I'm out of money. LOL Looking forward to the two that should be here tomorrow that I got coming though, can't wait to play with them!! :-)) LOVE your flowers, they are all so beautiful, eventually I hope to get more of them!! :-)))
Thank you for sharing my photo!! I love working with your digitals!!
Leslie's card is amazing, love it!
Thanks for the sale on the digi's, I picked up both!
Can't wait to see the July release! Thank you for the stamp sale. Beautiful cards!
As always, Marcy, a fun and inspiring Friday post, and congratulations Charleen for being featured with your gorgeous Pure Prairie Bouquet card. Gorgeous coloring! I love the Moody Board too and love seeing Leslie's gorgeous patriotic card. I love how she's used the digis for that one (two of my favorite things about digis...resizing and rearranging them). Loved seeing the Bloomies' cards, and what a fun photo of Finn in front of the St. Louis Museum! Happy Fourth! Hugs! xoxo
