Healthy + Happy Vibes!

Hello lovelies,
It’s time for a few colorful vibes to keep us healthy and happy!

Ooooh this first one is a bit of a tease — coming on Monday, Allison Cope will be sharing a tutorial for a zippy St. Patrick’s Day card with the sassiest shamrocks this side of the Emerald Isle. Guess what — you can be ready to pounce on the tutorial with your own copy of Wish You Luck (our shamrock bouquet) for only $1.25 — SAVE 75%  Download it here.

Vitamin Me  Have you ever thought about how much time you spend thinking about and doing things for others? It’s a wonderful, generous way to be! It’s what keeps our households running. It’s what makes the world a better, kinder, more gentle place. But mama, you need to refuel sometimes! This is just my little reminder to take some time for yourself. We all put a lot of physical and emotional energy in to taking care of others, and if we don’t take care of ourselves, we are going to crash. Soak up some Vitamin Me. Scheduling in time to meditate, to pray, to wander, to work out, to be still with yourself and your higher power, it’s a powerful move to filling yourself back up. We need you to be your vibrant, generous self, and you’ll feel better after you take your vitamins. :)

Cruciferous Crusade  Ya’ll know I’ve been trying to tell cancer to “talk to the hand”, grateful for modern medicine and the latest research to help get it all out of my bod. But there are plenty of ways we can help our bodies fight off disease, including cancer, and that is by eating lots and lots of plants. I’m all about balance, so I eat meat, the occasional ice cream cone, and enjoy a few potent potables in the evening. BUT after reading a bunch of research, I am making a point to get more cancer-fighting cruciferous vegetables in my diet. Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, watercress — all contain compounds which can help deter cancer growth. SIGN ME UP FOR MORE BROCCOLI!

Earlier this week, I mixed up a slaw using things we had in the fridge, and I thought I’d share the recipe here. My slaw is adapted from this one: https://detoxinista.com/sweet-sesame-lime-cabbage-salad/ — the difference, I added crushed red pepper, chopped almonds, and sweet pea tendrils, thought I think next time I’d put some kind of sprouts, especially broccoli sprouts! TASTY STUFF!

Do you have a great recipe featuring cruciferous vegetables? Leave a link or share your recipe in the comments if you’d like. My family and I will try as many of them as possible, and our readers will enjoy learning some new recipes! :)

Jewel Tone Tips  Amy Shulke with Vanilla Arts Co. is BACK with another exquisite coloring class — this one features our brand new Heart Abloom digital image. I just love how Amy gives us REAL TALK about coloring — her insights are invaluable! This month, Amy has a live coloring streaming video (which you can replay at your leisure for the next 6 months, once you’ve signed up.) on March 16. Get info here.

Ooooh there are some AWESOME CARDS this week by the Bloomies!! Tosha’s shaker card reminiscent of cherry blossom petals sprinkling down from the trees (COOL!), a fabric-inspired treat from Cindy, a bubbly birthday cake from Kathy, and Ally’s step-by-step masking extravaganza that is going to leave you speechless — come take our tour:

Lots of lovely info! I'm on LCHF diet and I use broccoli and cauliflower now more than ever. I'm still trying to find a recipe that I really like. I like to eat them steamed.

Lots of good vibes going on here! :) Holy moly that jewel tones card is beautiful!!! And your blooms cards are so beautiful and awesome! Here's a delicious recipe. Only thing I do different is to not add all of the dressing--only a bit is good for us! https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/paula-deen/broccoli-salad-recipe-1917215
